It wasn’t perfect, but it was intentional.

Our Story

At 3:45 in the afternoon on July 24th, 2018, I hit send on an email to our publisher with the final edited manuscript of this book. Only a few hours later on that same July day, Wynter would breathe her last breath as I desperately tried to save it. With a heart full of gratitude and excitement about our new journey, her physical heart failed her in a moment without warning, and she started a new journey with a new eternal reality, trusting God with me and our four girls left here on earth.

Wynter’s life is an amazing book. God gifted her and used her to reach a generation of girls, moms, and families for his kingdom purposes. Likewise, our marriage was a good book. It was full of ups and downs, highs and lows, and the eventual resolve and excitement that comes in any great story.

And just like a great story, our book seemed to end way too soon.

And just like a reader, I sit here wishing I could experience more.

For a Marriage That Brims Over

Wynter and I wrote this book to give you an honest look at the lessons we learned as we navigated the ups and downs of early marriage and raising our four daughters. It is our hope that you will see this as a different approach to your happily-ever-after.

Emptied is a way of life. It’s not about trying harder, it’s about thinking differently. Only when you are emptied of your own motivations can God pour new life into you for the abundant marriage you truly long for.

Are you brave enough to approach your marriage emptied of yourself, ready to be filled up?
